Widjiwagan's Y Partners Campaign is an annual fund drive that raises essential financial resources. These funds make it possible for Widji to help teens find a direction in life.
The campaign is coordinated and initiated primarily by Widjiwagan volunteers. All funds raised are utilized for camperships, trail equipment, staff development, wood canoe maintenance and other important projects.
How will your contribution make a difference?
Campership Support
The Y Partners Campaign is the foundation of Widji's summer financial aid program. Growth in Y Partners funds has enabled Widji to continue to expand its campership support.
Staff Development
Helping staff expand their skills as wilderness youth leaders is crucial to Widjiwagan's ongoing success. In 2008, Y Partners funds helped Widji:
Sponsor Wilderness First Responder training for staff
Develop a new curriculum for backpack leaders
Expand whitewater training for advanced staff
Trail Equipment
Quality equipment is essential for Widjiwagan's wilderness tripping program. Trail equipment enables groups to travel through pristine areas efficiently and safely. Widji's fleet of well maintained wood-canvas canoes affirm the crucial message of respect.

Do you know what’s special about Camp Widjiwagan’s Heritage Club? It’s the members! They’re camper and staff alumni. They’re current, former and future Widji parents and grandparents. They run the age gamut from twenty-something’s to eighty-something’s. They’re people for whom “the Widji way” runs so deeply, they show their commitment by making (or pledging to make) an endowed donation to the camp.
What, you might be wondering, is an endowed donation? And why is it so special? It’s a donation you give to Widji that’s meant to be invested. Your endowed donation goes into an Endowment Fund, a carefully managed investment fund that yields interest. The interest then provides regular cash distributions to Camp Widjiwagan. Speaking of interest, if you are passionate about a special program area, you can even designate that it will benefit from your endowed donation.
An endowed donation is sometimes called a “planned gift,” and it’s really an investment in the future. That’s why you are invited to become a member of the Heritage Club when you give an endowed donation—you’re joining with others who have invested in keeping Widji’s heritage alive for generations to come.
A bequest is one way to promise an endowed gift. You might be surprised to know that there’s a rapidly-growing group of young adults becoming Heritage Club members by making the promise of a bequest to Widji in their wills. It’s when families are young that people make wills to provide for them, and it’s a simple process to include a bequest to Widji in a will. You don’t have to specify a dollar amount (although, of course, you may) and you can make a bequest contingent upon all remaining family members being provided for. The promise of a bequest means a lot to Widji. It shows your commitment to Widji’s heritage by making it a part of your own legacy.
